Favorite Products

I decided to make a list of some of the products I buy over and over again. This is a list of things that I only use pretty much all the time, along with the prices I buy them at (the best ones I’ve found, if you know of the product anywhere at a better price, let a girl knowww!). The websites I use most often are Amazon and Vitacost (use this link to sign up and get $10 off first purchase through my referral!) I like to shop around for the best deal found. The products with an asterics in front mean that I buy the products in an actual store rather than online.

My favorites to buy, in no particular order:

PB2 – Powdered peanut butter. I like this baby more than regular peanut butter. #sorrynotsorry. The 1lb bag comes out to be way cheaper than buying jars. I’ve used this many times, check out my mentions of this product here.

Coconut flour - I love to use coconut flour as a lower carb option for baking, as well as for protein pancakes and to thicken up my kefir concoctions to make coconut protein pudding. It is divine! This is my favorite brand because it’s cheaper and has 60 calories per 2 Tbsp (I saw another brand had 70 calories for 2 Tbsp.. weird). See my mentions of coconut flour here.

Spelt Flour - I’ve grown to use spelt flour the most in baking.. I very rarely use regular white flour and I limit my use of whole wheat as well since it’s pretty processed as well. I have been using sprouted whole wheat flour too though (bought at Whole Foods). But I think I use spelt a lot more than sprouted whole wheat. See my mentions of spelt flour here.

*Special Dark Cocoa Powder - this Hershey’s product is my absolute favorite cocoa powder… it might be more processed than natural cocoa but I don’t even care, the flavor is oh so worth it. It is so deliciously dark, it’s uncomparable. I buy mine at my local Jewel-Osco (grocery store). See my mentions for this cocoa powder here.

*Greek Yogurt – I shouldn’t have to mention this here because if you’ve been following my blog, you already know I am obsessed with greek yogurt and I eat it way too often. I only purchase a plain variety of yogurt and it’s usually nonfat or lowfat variety, depending on calories and price. I buy various brands, depending on promotion that is going on at the given time: it is usually Fage, Chobani, Trader Joe’s Greek Style 0% Yogurt.

*Kefir – in addition to being obsessed with Greek yogurt, nonfat plain kefir is another love of mine. It’s an European thing, I guess, right Irina? I love the extra boost of probiotics in this Lifeway Kefir which I love – not only are they from Chicagoland, their products rock- they have a ton of varieties, they often have discounts in store, they have coupons to print online, and they have their own dessert frozen kefir shop in Chicago which I am obsessed with! I love to thicken it up by adding PB2 or coconut flour. See my mentions for kefir here.

Egg White Protein Powder – Jay Robb’s brand is my favorite even though it is a bit more pricey than MRM (another great, but cheaper brand) because I never have any digestive problems after consuming it. I noticed that MRM products tend to make me gassy in the tummy while I never have any of those problems using Jay Robb’s. Plus his protein powders taste just heavenly.

CarbRite Protein Bars- I know and eat a lot of different energy or protein bars but I have found these CarbRite bars which  I did a review about a few months ago to be one of my favorites… I like that they are all under 200 calories, sugar and gluten free, yet they taste deliciously indulgent. Plus they are full of protein. The flavors are ALL delicious which makes them really taste like candy bars, and that’s the thing I totally love about them. I’m guilty about eating 3 in one day once… oops. They are all so GOOD though! You can order them online.
