Oh boy, I’ve been watching too much of Once Upon A Time. Sorry about that. But seriously, that show is SO good. Especially for a PG show, I’m very much engulfed in the show. If you haven’t watched it yet, open up your Netflix and do it now!
I’ve found that I really love fairytale-type movies/shows. I enjoy every single one I watch. It’s weird because I never actually thought I would. But I really do enjoy them the most. I think maybe I might have been someone from that age in my past life? 😉
Moving on… It’s September already, what what? Umm.. I do wonder where the Summer has gone? I mean, the summer was barely even here, really. But I would rather have a mild summer and a mild winter than a HOT summer and FREEZING winter. I know it’s not how it always but yeah, I just had to put it out there. Hopefully the winter this year will not be intense. Last year’s was nice and mid, let’s hope this one will be similar.
Happy Labor Day to those in the US! Hope you can enjoy it as much as you possibly can 🙂
Now I wanted to talk a little bit of what’s to come in September…
Since I’m still unemployed, I thought I might as well take advantage of the time I have off and enjoy it! I haven’t traveled in forever since I’ve always either been in school or working and I finally have the opportunity to.. so here it is!
This Wednesday I am going to make an acquaintance with the West Coast for the first time! I am so excited! I am going to visit Los Angeles and San Diego with a friend! He is originally from there and his family still lives there so we are going to enjoy a few days of vacation time. I cannot wait to see what the fuss is all about. Stay posted about recaps!
The following weekend I am going to Healthy Living Summit in Minneapolis! Are you coming?!
I’ve talked my parents into going to MN to go enjoy a mini vacation of their own. So now I don’t have to pay for a flight or hotel and they get to visit a new state and city! It’s a win-win. I cannot wait to meet all of the bloggers who are attending and I can’t wait to see Minnesota! Hopefully I’ll get some nice photos during my stay!
Biz Lady Things
Let’s keep first things first blog related. My goal for September is to finish my eCookbook! The book is all about Single Serving Recipes and I am so excited to finally have it done 🙂 This would have been very helpful to have when I was in college but I’m sure it will serve a good purpose for those who ARE currently in school and others who live alone (like meeee). Stay tuned!
I am hoping to have my tech startup (yes, I am an Internet Entrepreneur-wannabe) a bit more fleshed out than the basic ideas. Just because I’m no longer in school does not mean I stop learning. I am going to be even more motivated than I was before. My goal for September is to have the basics done and ready to send off to a designer. I’m excited to open this other chapter in my life!
Health and Fitness related
For some reason, I tend to get a lot more motivated and comfortable when Fall and Winter come around for working out. I HAVE been working out consistently for two weeks now thanks to my fantastic #fitbuddies. I honestly don’t know how I could have gone 4 months without doing strength training – I missed it so much!
My fitness goal is to upgrade from using silver beginner dumbbells to using those big boy dumbbells (15 lbs+) for almost every body part. This is not necessarily to be accomplished by the end of September but I’m hoping by the end of October this will happen.
I’ve been learning more and more about my eating habits and why I do the things I do. Now the real challenge is to do something about this. When I come back from LA, I’m gonna go back on a hypnosis track to get my habitual boredom/emotional eating patterns in control. I have not binged in a long time but I think it’s time to get the unnecessary eating patterns in control and cleaned up.
Also I am hoping to buy a NutriBullet. Since I can’t get a juicer (too much cleanup), I do want to still make my own juices/smoothies and I heard NutriBullet is the way to do it. End of September, Discover gets 5% cash back on gifts and I’m pretty sure this can be considered a gift 😉 I’ll get it once this quarterly cash back bonus is happening.
Oh yeah, related to juicing… I made my parents use the juicer so I could make some juices to take home. I love it. We put a lot of stuff in there. Beets, cabbage, carrots, ginger, apple, celery…. I think there was something else but I already forgot. Either way, the flavor is actually REALLY delicious. I do think we could have put some kale or spinach in there too since it’s such a sweet juice to balance it out. But that’s okay, we can do it next time. Delicious 🙂
Definitely going to start drinking juices a lot more often!
I’m going to leave today’s post with a ridiculousness I saw at Costco. Seriously, Costco – Christmas decorations in AUGUST? SMH does not even capture my disappointment.
Now it’s your turn:
- What is your fitness goal for September?
- Are you planning on doing any traveling this month?
- When do you think Christmas decorations should start being sold in stores?
Let me know in the comments!
