Tuna Kefir Salad (high protein)

Lately, Tuna Kefir Salad has been frequenting my dinner option. I’ve posted about it before in my WIAW and Instagram multiple times but I thought I’d share exactly what it is I put into it. This is a super quick, easy, and filling salad with a big pow of protein!

I’ve been eating a lot more veggies lately and I love it. I’ve been going through two bags of spring mix and spinach in only a couple of days! I feel that when I eat more veggies throughout the day, I feel better and lighter and end up eating less calories than I would otherwise. It’s a win-win!

Okay but truthfully, my salad never looks all pretty in a small plate like this. I usually make it in a medium-large mixing bowl all mixed up together and eat it with a Wasa slice for a crunch. Perfection.

  • 2-3 handfuls of spring mix + spinach
  • 2/3 cup sliced and diced fresh cucumber (peeled)
  • 1/4 cup sliced sweet onion
  • half a can of tuna (in water; drained)
  • 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
  • scant 2/3 cup nonfat plain Lifeway Kefir
  • 1-2 Tbsp TJ’s spicy brown mustard
  • 1/2 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • dash of oregano or thyme (I don’t know why, I just put it in there)


  • Mix it all up, putting the ingredients in the order in which it appears in the list. Delicious!

Gotta love a salad that provides ~260 calories and a whopping 36.6 grams of protein!
