What I Ate Wednesdays #22 and The Fall Favorites Survey

Hello friends! I missed last week’s WIAW party and I felt bad. I just forgot to record all eats until it was too late. I decided to make it up by giving you guys all dSLR pictures this time and they are all pretty fun if I do say so myself. I had a pretty interesting day in terms of eats, at least compared to all of the other WIAW posts I have done. The others were usually recorded on Monday or Tuesday, sometimes Sunday. This time these are the eats from last FRIDAY! Woo! Yep, that’s different.

Peas and Crayons

Fridays are my off days – no school or work! I just run errands, do homework, or have photo shoots. So here goes! Thanks to Jenn for hosting, as per usual :)

Also, make sure to check out a Fall Favorites Survey at the end of the post :)

After an arm strength workout, I opt for protein of course. I had an awesomely fun breakfast which recipe I shared with you guys on Sunday. The breakfast consisted of superfoods, cacao and macqui. Oh my gosh, these are the best protein pancakes I have made to date!

Then I went to do a lingerie photo shoot in the West Loop, kinda by the industrial side. Thankfully the model brought an escort like I asked her to. Dudes that would drive by kept trying to take pictures and were whistling. So typical. You can check out photos I posted on my FB page: photos [one] and [two].

Anyway, I got home and decided to eat the Spinach Lasanga I got from Trader Joe’s the other day. It was a great choice. Delicious!

An hour later, I opted for some chili lime cashews from TJ’s. Spicy ūüėČ

Then for dinner I had my spicy sweet potato fries with some nooch mustard yogurt sauce. So darn good. Buying sweet potatoes is always a great idea.

Then it was time to chill out and get ready for the night. We¬†went by my friends’ apartment before hitting the town and I finally tried a shot of something I’ve been dying to try! Rumchata!

The night consisted of hitting up some usual spots: Soundbar, Ybar, and Crescendo and ended up with going to Cuvee afterwards as well, so that was different. Fun night!

Now time for a little survey…

FALL IS COMING! It’s coming, it’s coming! It’s pretty much almost here and it makes me excited. I know it makes a lot of you guys excited too, I’ve seen how much everyone is gushing over seasonal foods (me included). Fall is definitely a season I absolutely love! It’s just beautiful… the leaves, the weather, the clothes, the food… it’s time to get cozy and comfy and cuddle! So I think it’s the perfect time to do a Fall survey! Because I love surveys. And I know a lot of you do too. So let’s get to it.

The Fall Favorites Survey first appeared on Sensual Appeal! :)

Favorite Fall activity?

Walks around the neighborhood and enjoying the beautiful leaves changing colors. It’s peaceful and serene. Sadly, I haven’t done a lot of the typical Fall stuff others have done becasue I grew up in Poland and a lot of the American traditions that surround Fall aren’t there in Poland so all we get to enjoy is the nature. Here, there’s so many holidays and activities – so fun. But nature walks are still my favorite way to enjoy the season.

What are you top two things you really want to do this Fall?

Well, I haven’t done a LOT of things in the past Fall seasons that I’ve always wanted to…

I’ve only carved a pumpkin once in my life, for example, how sad is that? So number one – go to a pumpkin patch and carve a pumpkin!

Number two, go to an apple orchard and get a whole lotta apples!

Favorite Fall ingredient?

Apples! I’d say pumpkin but I don’t eat it nearly as often as I should to consider it a favorite while apples on the other hand… now that’s the one fruit I can’t go without! I love them!

Favorite variety of apple?

I like them all but my favorite would be Golden Delicious and Granny Smith I think. And maybe Gala too.. but honestly, I’m pretty bad with names, I just pick and choose whichever ones look good. Apples are just so delicious! I am also making sure that I finally¬†go to an apple orchard this year!

Favorite way to enjoy pumpkin?

My mom’s pumpkin soup. Oh my gosh, I cannot wait to share a recipe with you guys in the near future! I asked my mom to teach me how to make the soup. It’s one of my favorites and I bet you haven’t had anything like it before – unless you’re from Poland too I suppose. It’s creamy.. it’s sweet.. it’s like a dessert soup. So darn good! And cozy. And comfy. Ohhh, I’m totally drooling now. Cannot wait!

Pumpkin patch is another thing I have put on my list for this year! Must happen! I’ve never been :(

Favorite way to enjoy apples?

Szarlotka, which is a Polish cake made with apples. Not exactly apple pie, it’s more of a cake but has a lot of apples in it still. I’ll make it soon and I’ll make sure to share the recipe as well. It’s very good. But truthfully, I really like apples plain too, I’m not that picky. I have used apples before in some recipes such as the¬†apple oatmeal mini muffins

or the¬†bran apple muffins¬†which I had frequently for breakfast…

or my first recipe from the blog, a pear apple tart!

Favorite hot beverage?

I’m a total tea drinker. Tea or grain “coffee” bevarage, Inka. You already know I love all kinds of teas, I wrote posts about the health benefits of¬†white tea¬†and¬†rooibos tea¬†before. Just to prove to you that there is a reason why I love tea so much aside from it’s awesome taste.

Favorite Halloween treat as a child? Now?

Well I didn’t have Halloween as a kid. But I did go trick or treating twice when I came to the US even though I was a bit old at 14 and 15, but who cares. My favorite candy were the Twix! I don’t eat any candy that would be given out now and I don’t get any trick or treaters since I live in an apartment in a dorm.

Favorite thing about Halloween?

Being able to put fake blood on myself and confuse people by still looking kinda sexy. It’s a new thing that I just started doing last year but I loved the reactions I was getting and I’m totally doing something like it again this year! It’s just so fun! I don’t like the boring ol’ pre-made costumes for adults, they are all so slutty!

Last year I did a clever costume for Halloween, I was working both Friday night and Saturday night and didn’t want to buy a costume so I decided to do a two-part costume. On Friday night, I dressed up as a regular girl who has been attacked and bitten by a vampire.¬†Then on Saturday I meant to be a newborn vampire but I went a bit overboard with makeup and looked like a vampire/zombie hybrid. I liked it. Haha, someone said to me “It’s kinda scary and looks real but I’m confused about why I’m kinda turned on right now” haha awesome reaction!

What’s your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?

Unfortunately my family is scattered all over the world and our Thanksgiving isn’t very exciting. It’s just me and my parents having dinner that includes turkey. Nothing nearly as awesomely looking as those huge Thanksgiving turkey dinners I see on movies! I’m jealous, I wish I could have a huge family here to celebrate with. But anyway, I do like turkey and I love the stuffing my mom makes – she makes it healthier somehow but it tastes delicious!

Any foods or recipes you want to try this season?

Yes! There’s a lot! I finally am going to try some recipes using pumpkin and hopefully come up with some more seasonal cupcake recipes! I’m pretty excited :) Plus maybe some comfort food?

Favorite Fall fashion trend?

Skinny jeans, boots, and big scarves! Oh yes. I cannot wait! So cute!

Hurry up, fall :)

Favorite movie to watch on those Fall evenings?

I don’t have just one movie but I do love my rom coms… Not the super sappy ones though, I like ones that aren’t super dumb, I like them cuter and a bit smarter. My favorite comfort movie is He’s Just Not That Into You, I must have watched it 20 times so far and I’m still not sick of it.

Another movie I absolutely love forever is Beetlejuice! Perfect Halloween movie for me :)

Now it’s your turn!!

What’s your favorite Fall ingredient??

What’s your favorite seasonal Holiday??

Ahh I LOVE tea as well. I drink at least 5 cups daily and love trying new teas. Classic Russian black tea with honey will always have my heart though.

I’m liking your night-dwelling adventures! Do you go to Ybar and Crescendo (and other places) for fun often? I rarely go out but maybe I’ll bump into you one day :)

I’m not a big fan of black tea because of its high caffeine content and I’m pretty sensitive to caffeine although it’s been getting better and now I can drink green tea without anxiety :) But yesss I actually do go out quite often to Ybar and Crescendo, I used to work there by taking photos every Friday and now I just go there on Fridays because a lot of my friends go there as well. I work at Lumen & The Mid on Saturdays too so if you’re ever there on those nights I might see you :)
