2-Minute Homemade Peanut Butter with Autumn Flavors (super easy recipe)

2 Minute Autumn-Flavored Peanut Butter

Reason number x why I love food blogs (who keeps track anyway)… healthy food blogs to be exact. Oh She Glows to be the most exact. She has such a genius mind when it comes to healthy recipes. When I saw her recipe (if you can call it that, it’s that easy) for a 2-minute apple cinnamon peanut butter, I was floored. HOW didn’t I think of that before? It’s the easiest recipe in the world and it solves my dilemma – apple butter by itself is too sweet and peanut butter by itself is too heavy and caloric… the combination of apples and peanut butter is glorious. Angela went ahead and combined the two into one delicious homemade Autumn-flavored peanut butter. A homemade peanut butter with a flavor of apples! It couldn’t be easier. Because I was all out of my no-sugar-added apple butter from the Amish (sad) I ran to Trader Joe’s and got two jars of two different types of fruit butters – honey apple butter and pumpkin butter. Perfect fall flavors. I didn’t have time to make my own butters for this but that’s what Trader Joe’s is for, right?

I purchased my first regular jar of peanut butter (I know right… my first one ever! I’ve always been more of an almond butter girl, but the almond butter is more expensive and I am on a budget at the moment). I went for Smart Balance Creamy Natural peanut butter. I didn’t really see much of a difference between the natural peanut butters on the shelf in my Jewel-Osco. I don’t know why I chose this one. But that’s beside the point. I took out my beloved food processor, threw the two ingredients in there and processed. This homemade peanut butter tasted… oh my goodness. It tasted simply glorious. Granted, I’m sure it would be even better if the peanut butter was sugar-free because the outcome was still pretty sweet but that’s alright – I love it anyway.

Once the Honey Apple Peanut Butter jar was almost done, I did the same thing with the pumpkin butter I got from Trader Joe’s to create Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter. If this doesn’t taste like Fall, I don’t know what does… Mmmm. I love me some homemade peanut butter with creative autumn flavors!

How-to:

The ratio used for these Autumn-flavored peanut butter is 3 parts apple/pumpkin butter to 1 part peanut butter. I used 9 Tbsp apple butter and 3 Tbsp peanut butter. For the pumpkin butter, I also added 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice to add it more a complex flavor. Oh, by the way – 9 Tbsp doesn’t equal the whole fruit butter jar because I ate a little bit of it before combining the two. I had to make sure the combo would fit in the jar, right? Moral of the story… go make this. RIGHT NOW! It’s SO SO SO worth it!

I love TJ’s pumpkin butter. Years ago it inspired me to make my own, which I love even more… mixing with PB is a great idea.

I was wondering if that would work, but apple butter has a thicker and denser consistency than applesauce so I wasn’t sure. Have you tried it?
