So I’ve never actually been to California during winter (or ever, for that matter) but someone posted a status that said we’re having California winter in Chicago. I guess if I had to use my imagination, I’d imagine the same. While I know it’s still technically Fall, the streets of Chicago are in full-swing Holiday mode. Christmas lights have been up since before Thanksgiving, Christmas music is playing all around, Red Cross workers are by every store dinging their bells and asking for donations. I love this time of the year, it really is the most wonderful time – it’s so jolly and merry. But not for the past few days. Although I’m not complaining.
It’s just weird going outside in only my PINK sweatshirt and still being pretty warm. It’s strange. I mean, I love warm weather, it’s great. It’s just confusing to have this kind of weather in December. This is the 3rd day in a row that we’ve been been in the 60s. Today we actually got up to 72F! It’s nuts.. I just hope this doesn’t mean something really will happen soon. I really don’t want the world to end, I have too much to do still.
So anyway, I just had to take advantage of the warm temperature and I decided to go outside and snap some photos around my area after work. I haven’t had a chance to go to Christkindmarket this year yet so I set that as the destination for the evening. I love German things. Christkindlmarket is a German Christmas market and it has a whole bunch of stuff, from ornaments, to chocolates, to warm wine. I didn’t get any food but I did snap some photos of the vendors and whatnot.
On my way there, I took some random photos of the city cause I wanted to get some more experience shooting HDR. What do you think? I’d love some feedback on the shots:
And then I finally got there, so I got to snapping the final destination – Christkindlmarket! It was thankfully not very busy, as expected on a Monday evening.
Have you ever been to Christkindmarket?
Have you ever been to any other Christmas market?
