Hello everyone! It’s another WIAW, how exciting! Thanks to Jen for hosting this awesome linky party! Again, the theme for July includes food AND fitness! I am also going to include some stuff that finally came to my house via mail that I ordered. Because I get excited when I get packages and I like to write about it – you know this!
First off, came the package from LuckyVitamin. I have been waiting for this package anxiously because I ran out of protein powder a week ago (!) and I have been in (emotional) pain ever since. Finally, I am at peace. I usually use Jay Robb whey protein but decided to get a different whey this time as it is cheaper and seems to have the same nutritional stats. I got 1 lb of this Isopure Dutch Chocolate Protein for something like $15. I also got 12 oz of Jay Robb’s vanilla egg white protein. I go for proteins that have no added sugars and there sadly aren’t many on the market. I am happy with these two brands though. I’ve been using Jay Robb for a few years now and this is my first time trying out Isopure – so far so good, the flavor of this protein is super chocolatey. I’m
almost not used to such a strong chocolate flavor when it comes to protein powders, but I like it!
Then I got a package from Sur La Table with some new stuff for the kitchen! I won a $250 gift card from Foodie By Glam for participating in an Instagram #dailyfoodie contest so that’s pretty exciting. I’m letting my mom use it with me cause that’s a whole lotta money to spend on kitchen stuff! Unwrapping this paper took me like 5 minutes, there was SO many layers! It reminded me of those russian dolls. Literally, there must have been like 10 layers of wrapping on this thing, haha.
I got a small-ish baking pan that can be used for casseroles, a glove, doughnut tin, and a slicer.
Now, onto fitness: I have been following Curvalicious program and I am now halfway done with week 3. My arms feel stronger and my abs feel stronger and it’s awesome. I need to step it up with cardio though, I’ve been lagging in that department. I am planning on going swimming this weekend in my gym’s pool since the gym is usually pretty empty on the weekends. I am also planning to start jogging soon… soon… once I get my knee checked out this Friday.
Now onto food: Tuesday
Post-workout (butt day!) Breakfast: Mocha Banana Shake with the new chocolate protein powder. This shake was ultra chocolatey! So yummy! I also had a green tea afterwards which made me way too jittery. Caffeine doesn’t like me.
Lunch: I had the iChoice meal replacement shake and a Probar Halo S’mores bar.
After-internship Lunch: I am happy to announce I am trying not to resort to eating sweet foods! Yay! For after internship lunch/meal whatever you wanna call it, I made a mahi mahi burger with guacamole and Laughing Cow swiss cheese. It was so good and filling! I somehow landed myself in a nap zone afterwards haha. A good hour at that too!
Dinner: I made zucchini gratin. It was yummy and light, would be a perfect side dish but the portion was good enough for me to have as a main course.
Dessert: Arctic Zero orange dreamsicle protein ice cream bar. Delicious. <3
