Happy 4th of July everyone!

Can you believe it’s July already? Jeez. Is time going by super fast or what? Before I know it, summer is going to be over and winter will be here. Okay, okay, maybe I’m going kinda far here but you know what I mean. Sigh. Anyway, the theme for this month is awesome because it not only includes our eats but also FITNESS! Thank you for hosting, Jen.

Oh yeah, by the way, it’s freaking hot out today. And it was yesterday. And it will be all week. 90-100s hot. Way too hot for me. I like a happy medium of 75-80 please and thank you! Ha.(Tuesday) I woke up and had my booty weight training day today from the Curvalicious program. Today, I realized how much working out really calms me and relaxes me and makes me feel at peace with myself. It was weird but I actually identified those feelings as such which is awesome. As I was doing squats, I was thinking to myself “wow, there is nothing in my mind except this workout, I feel so at ease and so… good!” I’m happy because this means that fitness is truly becoming a part of me like I want it to. I want to never be able to live without fitness.

Anyway, the workout was good although I feel like I’m gonna have to go heavier next time. I progressed yay. The workout took me 50 minutes and I was starting to get a bit nauseous at the end, surely because I was working out on empty stomach and my glycogen was getting depleted.

9am: Post workout breakfast was a Mocha Banana Protein Shake. I love this shake. So much. It’s too good. Especially with the Hershey’s Special Dark cocoa powder (oh my gawd, is that cocoa amazing)

11:30am: Larabar Uber Cherry Cobbler bar from the prize pack I won from a giveaway at Passing Daisies. I haven’t had these bars yet so it was a little exciting trying it out. The bar is surprisngly a lot more tart than I expected. It’s much more tart than sweet. That’s good, it’s a good change up from the usual sweet bars.

2pm: iChoice meal replacement shake. I’m starting to get used to this taste. But I’m still not a big fan. Beh. I just chug it down. That was done while I was working/setting out a meal plan for the week (yay)

4:30pm: Mahi mahi burger with Ezekiel bread, lettuce, peppers, laughing cow cheese wedge

I saw a tweet by FitFluential about the #plankaday challenge and ummm of course I accept!

Pardon the cleavage lol

I dropped down and got one down for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Gonna get that number up, you’ll see.

6pm: Arctic Zero chocolate peanut butter flavor ice cream with Enjoy Life chocolate granola, Erewhon Raisin Bran cereal, very cherry frozen fruit blend, and PB2 syrup. If you like that low calorie/high protein ice cream I’m eating make sure you ENTER in my giveaway to win 4 flavors of the bars PLUS 8 pint flavors all delivered to your door by the company. Healthy deliciousness, I tell you!

8:20pm: two eggs with onion and spinach and salsa

And now it’s time to go see Ted. I highly doubt that movie will be funny or good, but my friend wants me to come, soo..

Question of the day:

  • What’s the longest you’ve held a plank for?
  • What’s your favorite summer-time healthy dessert?

  1. loving arctic zero! my favorite summer-time healthy dessert has got to be a good watermelon! so fresh and tasty – can’t beat it!

  2. Your mocha banana protein shake looks very yummy!
I’ve never actually timed how long I hold my plank for but I’ll do so today. My favorite summer time healthy dessert is my mom’s fruit cake….which is actually healthy!!! 😉 But I also love to just snack on fresh fruit! Happy WIAW!!

  3. My favorite summer dessert is pretty much seasonal fruit. It’s so tasty and refreshing. With my plank-a-day I think I ended with over 2 minutes. Maybe I need to start again.

  4. I love the arcitc Zero too! The chocolate PB is my favorite flavor. With all those toppings it looks even better 🙂

  5. The longest I can do is 45seconds, you’re amazing! And maybe try a light pre-workout snack, like a protein bar, to help your workouts go over better? As for the heat, I am 100% with you girl. This heat is killing me. JULY BE OVER. Kthx.

Also, that sundae? Want it so bad!!! You need to stop posting delicious Arctic Zero pictures, because now I’m going to be even SADDER if I don’t win!

  6. That burger looks awesome! And … I heard Ted was HILARIOUS. The commercials would lead me to believe it’s not my thing, but I’m going to give it a try too. Enjoy your day!

  7. Happy WIAW! Love your chocolate peanut butter ice cream and toppings!

  8. Happy July 4th!

Your arctic ice cream treat looks amazing!

I want to see “Ted”, let me know how it is! <3

    • Ted was actually reallyyyy funny! I didn’t think it would be, but yeah, it was a pleasant surprise. It was a bit on the long side so if you go see it, be ready for that. They could have made it like 20 minutes shorter in my opinion.

  9. Happy 4th of July Kammie!

That Mocha Shake looks amazing! I am seriously craving one now 🙂

I challenged myself to get up to a 5 min plank a while a go and it took me a couple months but I did it! Keep going girl you’ll see improvements so fast!

  10. Happy 4th! Sorry to hear about the workout nausea.. Maybe try a rightbeforebed snack or a waking up snack? I always eat right before bed to up my reserves, or have a banana prerun. 🙂 Your eats look delicious, especially your sundae! I can hold a 2+ min plank.

  11. My longest plank was 3 minutes! I’ve only done it a few times but my arms are pretty strong so I think that helps! Nice blog by the way, I’m your food pen pal for July!
