Sigh, it’s that time of the semester again – finals week. Unfortunately, I am much much more unmotivated and lazy this semester than I ever have which is weird because this is also the first semester I’m only taking 4 classes. It’s really taking a lot for me to study and stay on top of things although I’m not the type of person that doesn’t do anything ever – so of course I still do what I’m supposed to. I’m an Honors student after all! It’s just not a fun time.
On Saturday evening, we did a double date at Uncommon Ground on Clark St in Chicago with my boyfriend’s best friend and his girl who’s just gotten back from being in Ecuador for a year for Peace Corps. This restaurant has been named the most environmentally-friendly restaurant in the whole United States. My boyfriend and I have been before and decided it was time to make a return. I had vegan farro cakes which were all organic, delicious, but pretty darn expensive ($18!)
Now, let’s look into a day of eats of Kammie, shall we? This is what I ate on Monday:
I woke up and decided not to do my pre-breakfast workout since I realized I’ve been overtraining. I think giving my body a little break is a good idea. Back on it tomorrow though! I had an egg white scramble with some veggies & cheese, topped with pineapple salsa. Oolong tea on the side. (Ps. Yeah, I had to use the self-directed camera because I used my iPad which has a cover. Pardon me in the background lol)
I had a delicious fruit smoothie from a local quick sushi spot. Strawberry & Papaya with green jelly on bottom. Mmm!
Upon seeing Starfruit Cafe‘s Facebook status about today being a free size upgrade day, I realized that I haven’t been there in 3 weeks! It’s about time I make a return. So I had a frozen kefir treat (raspberry swirled with chocolate truffle) topped with mixed berries and cinnamon. Amazing. My favorite treat EVER.
Spinach wrap with a bunch of veggies inside – steamed collard greens, cooked mushrooms and carrots, lettuce, onions, pickles. I eat it with salsa. I just love salsa, haha.
