Hello everyone, it’s another Wednesday and you know what that means – What I Ate Wednesday! The day’s eats were captured yesterday – Tuesday. Thank you to Jenn for hosting and coming up with this event and making Wednesdays that much more awesome.
But before we get into the day’s food pics, I have a grocery haul to share with you guys too! Don’t you love those? I definitely did NOT intent on buying so much stuff… but grocery shopping is just so therapeutic to me (no, this is not sarcasm). I’m all stocked up for a week or two 🙂 Woopee!
Well first, I made a visit to Sephora because I’m almost out of foundation. I’ve been using Benefit’s Oxygen Wow liquid foundation and the Bare Minerals interchangeably. I’m out of the Oxygen Wow though and I wanted to try out a different liquid. I went for this stila Stay All Day foundation; hope it’s good! It’s a foundation and concealer 2-in-1 so that’s pretty cool. It also comes with a brush!
Class got out early and I went straight to Jewel Osco ready with Lifeway coupons printed, and in hand. The main point of the trip was to get some Lifeway kefir cause I haven’t had any in a whileee now and you should already know how obsessed I am with kefir!
Two nonfat plain Lifeway kefir bottles (they were on sale too! So I saved a whole bunch on these); Mountain High fat free plain yoghurt (on sale); and vegetarian-fed cage free brown eggs.
Now, I don’t usually buy canned soup – like EVER but I was curious to try these so I just went for it. Garden vegetable, veggie noodle, and vegetable soup – all natural and organic 🙂 I think they were all on sale too, if I remember correctly. Of course, I had to get a can of pumpkin as well!
I wasn’t planning on getting any nut butter but the Better’n was on sale for 4.99 so I went for it. Also this salsa was on sale and I’ve been out of salsa for a while. Needed a break from TJ’s salsas anyway!
I needed white tea back in my life. Thankfully it was on sale! I haven’t tried this brand for tea yet so we’ll see how it goes!
I am very pleased with Heinz for finally introducing a low sugar ketchup. It’s also lower in calories! Yay!
Peppers and bananas 🙂 Two yellow to cut and put in the freezer and two green to ripen and eat normally.
Almost everything was on sale 🙂 I’m a frugalista!
Now onto the day’s eats: Tuesday.
I did a jog/walk outside today upon waking up. It didn’t go as well as I wanted it to because I got some major cramps in the middle of it and had to go to the bathroom really bad lol so I had to cut it short. Still got a nice sweat going though! I made sure to walk a whole lot throughout the day to compensate too.
When I got home I made myself an ACV+lemon juice drink. It actually tastes good! Like lemonade kinda!
For breakfast I had oat bran with protein powder and blueberries. Don’t mix the blueberries into a chocolate oat bran while it’s cooking… the concoction will turn grey. Not the most appetizing thing in the world.
I had Starfruit Cafe for lunch – of course I did. It’s two punch tuesday and they have salted caramel and coconut flavors on Tuesdays – my favorite! Mmmmmm….
After the intense grocery trip, I made myself some eggs with spinach + spring mix and onions, topped with the new salsa and two slices of sprouted whole wheat bread form TJ’s.
For a night snack, I enjoyed some chocolate coconut pudding (but without the protein powder) topped with coconut butter and TJ’s puffed wheat cereal. Delicious! (note: sign up for Vitacost using my link to get $10 off first purchase)
